Retro Mobile TV Studio Unveiled

An iconic American Airstream motorhome is about to receive a new lease of life as a mobile TV production studio. The BBC will use the 1979 Excella motorhome, which has been converted by Silver Stage event structures, during the festival season. The vintage vehicle has received a full makeover both inside and out, turning it in to a sleek and stylish media hub.

The vehicle will travel around the UK to film a new TV show.

The interior of the motorhome has been carefully designed so that it includes the key components required by broadcast production crews. Clients hiring the vehicle will find plenty of desk space for monitors and laptops, power sockets, a large horse-shoe shaped seating area for interviews and 3G wireless internet.

Talking about the classic vehicle, Silver Stage director Seth Fellner said: “Although it’s undergone a major refit, our intention was always to retain the retro styling that is synonymous with this type of motorhome. The rotating driver and passenger captain’s seats are still in there, as are the tinted windows and high quality white leather upholstery. The outcome is a really unique vehicle that provides the perfect portable production facility for events.”
The motorhome can be hired as a self-drive vehicle or delivered directly to your site.
